THE HISTORY OF EMMA'S KITCHEN

Emma's Kitchen is named after Emma Grace Tucker, Wayne & Jennifer's only child.  Emma was born May 23rd, 2012, and passed away December 19th, 2016.  Emma suffered from an extremely rare neuro-degenerative disease called Canavan disease.  This disease marked her life with physical limitations, but her legacy is marked with endless love, passionate grace, and an adventurous spirit.

Chef Wayne & Jennifer Tucker wanted to build a business that Emma would be proud of.  Opening Tucker's Restaurant in BC in 2011, and with passion and drive to be business owners, for 10 years they lived and worked in the quaint farming community of Armstrong, BC.

After Emma passed away in 2016, Wayne and Jennifer really started to evaluate their life goals, and where they wanted to be.  Wayne had always dreamed of ownership, owning the building that he would run his restaurant in.  The opportunity arose, and with sacrifice and a knowledge that they were moving to make a change, they packed up their 2 dogs, 2 cats and their entire life and moved to Candle Lake Saskatchewan in May of 2021.

In the community of Candle Lake, Wayne saw huge potential in a restaurant previously known as Rick's Lounge.  With an enormous amount of hard work, and sheer determination to succeed Wayne & Jennifer created a location and a business that Emma would have been proud to have her name on.  They officially re-branded from Tucker's Restaurant to Emma's Kitchen opened in December of 2021.

Little by little they are working towards a dream of a restaurant and market that will serve this community for many years to come.

Although there is much that is left to be done within the restaurant, and the lounge portion is still closed for major renovations, they are able to be open year round serving amazing food to the local community members and the guests that come to enjoy Candle Lake.

If this is your first time visiting Candle Lake, or Emma's Kitchen & The Market at Emma's Kitchen, we welcome you to our amazing community and hope that you enjoy your time in our little slice of paradise!

It is a renovated spot with a chef who cares that everyone enjoys their meals- and there are numerous gluten-free options which is quite a find for a tiny lake resort village. They have brought a nice array of choices to the lake! Be sure to mention gluten free needs when you order to be sure you get the meal you need!
